I am back for the time being

1. Sorry for not writing for those readers who used to read my weblog everyday. I have been away on an assignment and I am quite busy these days as well. I am going to Spain to a conference next month while must attend many meetings and write reports all over. So, my apologies before hand.
2. Anyone interested to hear about my roommates!? If so, there are new developments here:
The girl moved out! She didn’t like living in a small suburb house! and living with the rules that we have. (Like Tuesday we have leave the house before 7:30 since clean lady will come in, she is rough women (If you are still around by 7:30 am, she shouts "get out","you must have had left the house empty by now"!) She apparently moved out with two guys in downtown of Zurich!
The Pakistani Professor moved back to his country. So, no more of him!
Now there are only 3 of us, the Brazilian, Spanish and I.
We still have major problem with cleaning the kitchen, none of these two guys wash their utensils after they used them. This really pisses me off! Because whenever I walk in to prepare a food for myself there is no pan available to cook anything in it!
There are now couple of pros for such small group of people being in this house. Most of the time the entire house is quiet and empty! The bathrooms are only for three people, now.
3. Read the story of women are suspicious of their husbands. read the stor here (It is written in Persian)
4. This guy is apparently anti-marriage and he has his own reasoning. read his article here.
5. For past few weeks except for last few days of June, this area where I live has a temperature fluctuating from 10 to 20 degrees and relative humidity of 60 to 90 %. Now I know why they say Switzerland is cold country!
6. AH, Holland and Germany are playing friendly soccer, I shall watch it! Until next time!:-)

Couple of interesting points on Switzerland

1. The girl is really messy! She also doesn't clean the kitchen after she is done. She would do that about 24 hours later!!

2. In North of Switzerland they technically supposed to speak German. This is quite different from Hoch Deutsch that is common in Germany. I would like to share a few words with you that are vital if you ever passed by this County!
1. Gruetzi it is pronounced Grootsi= Hi to One!
2. Mitnander pronounced Mit-And-Nander=Hello to Two and more!
3. Ahoi Suzam, pronounced Hoi-Sizamn! means hello all!!
4. In Hoch German they say : Es ist schon gut! It means It is good, now.
These guys pronouce Es ist schon gut as E-CH Goote!
Gut=good=Gutte!!
5. Guten Appetite is E-Guotte!!!
6. Schweitz=Switzerland=Schwitz Pronouced Shwits!!!
6. Essen=to eat=Asse!!!
however, this is Spoken German, when they write they are supposed to write hoch German, however, they use lots of English, French and Italian words in them!!

3. These guy really pay attention to quality rather than qualtity, unlike North Americans. The food comes in small portion but in good quality.
I think they have heard this Persian expression: Eat Always, eat less! Kam bokhor Hamisheh Bokhor!!

Let's get somewhat political!

1. I still do not understand why Ganji is on hunger strike. I mean he can leave his hunger strike, can continue to write and educate people. He brain and thoughts are quite more valuable than being lay down like a meat with no movement just waiting to die. With all due respect to him, he has chosen a dark path for his means. THe dark side is prevailing! May the force be with him!

I do not understand us, Iranians, every 25 years we dry to step forward and all of the sudden we jump couple of steps backward by blowing everything and stop what we have continued. We blow reforms by not voting for Moein.
Ganji is self-destructing to achieve who knows what! I think we have really short memory when it comes to our past!
Another thing about Ganji, how could he write so many replies to the letters he received while he has been on strike for 50 day!! I recall we heard that if you do not eat for 30 days you die! 3 days no fluid you die! So, information we have heard so far are all untrue!!!

2. Is it me or wherever I open up a news site or TV I see threatening word for Iran. Iran has been receiving lots of attentions, recently. American are even talking about getting UN green light for a major sweeping! They are referring to new president as a hardliner. So, it means no chance for any changes and dialogue. I hope no war ever take place. It is quite sad.

3. I have to apologize for so many spelling mistakes and other mistakes in my writings. Because I usually spent less than 30 min. to write and I directly type everything in blogger. So. Forgive me for my deepening mistakes!

4. Ciao! bye! tuess! Widersehen! farewell!

Where do I live with what kind of people?

Today, once again I went to that observation mode! I think it is somehow my default mode! Where do I live and what kind of people I am roommate with! This is story of today!

Please keep this in mind that these observations on stated people are based on first impressions. They are also obtained after a few conversations and living in the same house for very short period of time!

Let me start with description of where I live. It all starts from here:
A wooden made house which has recently been renovated with three floors including the basement. Basement is where the kitchen is. A fairly modern one with halogen stews plus required kitchen appliances. Left side of stairs there is also a room for laundry.

On the first floor we have three rooms all equipped with cable TV and ADSL internet access and of course furnished. The second floor has also the same structure. There is bathroom and rest room for every floor as well. Let’s look at the outside sceneries. From north there are clay Tennis courts which are free of people most of the time and on south we have the street. On the east and west sides are walking corridors distances from neighbors.

All right, having explained these fair descriptions now I can tell you who are the people currently have the honor of living in this house.

On the first floor we have two people so far. One is a German girl who seems like a tough girl. Goes mountain biking, and has lots of accessories. (when moved in she had so much stuff that she didn’t have space for them). She talks fairly a lot has a big scar on his neck and chick! How do I know she talks a lot, you may wonder? The first day I saw her, she was just moving in and I saw her with her boyfriend (a tough looking guy with shaved hair) right by kitchen door. No time wasted she started to ask me questions, why am I here? Where did I come from? What do I do? How long am I going to stay here? and what is my field of study! Plus some more question, she hardly let me answer any of them. All of the sudden, the boy friend gets a little angry and tells her with an arrogant voice: “We don’t have the whole day here stading and listen to your BS, but let’s move your stuff in.” He said that in German, thought I wouldn’t understand! I learned that she can cook, too. (just last night I noticed she cocked for her boyfriend, the Spanish guy and herself).
Moving on, to the next dude, who is also on the first floor and is from Brazil! This guy looks lost! He talks English with difficulty wonders about how do I know so many things about his country?! Goes out with so many Brazilian girls! The worst of all, he never cleans the kitchen after he is done eating. I mean does not put the dishes back to their places or cleaning the used areas. He is kind of a lost soul!

Second floor, There is this Spanish guy who feels that he definitely is Alan Delon(spelling) with his looks. Looks at me like why aren’t you cleaning this area?! He tries to speak English with American accent however, he usually screw up if you talk fast to him! little arrogant and snobby! He gives you that look like how Do I look?! George Clooney?? He even locks the door when he goes in his room for a few seconds!(I just realized that, today!)

Another dude, or shall I say a Professor from Pakistan!(Heis around 40 something) He is truly a religious dude. Very strange when you eat lunch or dinner with him. He touches his pointing finger to his left thumb and prays in very low voice while slowly moving those fingers. According to him, He used to study Phd of Materials science in England and that was the time he could cook! Now after his arranged marriage in Pakistan he has not touched kitchen what so ever, except for eating! Once I had couple of friends over from work and had dinner together (It was potluck), he was acting like where should I stay after we finish the food. Shouldn’t you guys clean these dishes?!!

At last, I can talk about myself. Ok, I am guessing from my weblog you can tell what kind of a creature I am! But I have to admit that these dudes mostly do not know how to live with roommates. One of the most important things is cleaning after you are done. They are lacking that. You know I am coming to this vivid conclusion that men in general need women to at least tell them, you'd better clean up your mess! and No matter where is the men from or what culture, we are the same!!
I am the only dude who takes out the garbage (at least have been doing that for the past few weeks, I do that becasue the thing gets very stinky!) and knows how to cook in less than an hour from scratch!!

What is friendship, anyway?

My previous writing Friendship in childhood... in regard of friendship has raised some interesting attraction that some of the readers provided opinion and asked for more clarification. A while ago I wrote an essay on
Love. I would recommend if you get a chance to read that.
Now let’s go back to our friend and friendship:
According to Webster dictionary Friend is defined as:
1. one attached to another by affection or esteem
2. A person whom one knows, likes and trusts.
3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; comrade.
4. One who supports, sympathizes with, or patronizes a group.
5. An acquaintance.

On the same token friendship is defined as:
1 : the state of being friends
2 : the quality or state of being friendly

So, I suppose what we can do here is to define what are the states that we have with our friends and volià we may end up somewhere close to what really the definition of friendship is.
Human as social creature likes to be dependent to others plus the fact that we enjoy to socialize, share our views, as well as being approved or heard (i.e. this is supported by psychologist; those who choose solidarity end up to be misfit or run out of their mind)!
A friendship is not just simple one dimensional means to be defined. One thing is for sure that many trait and attributes must be added up to build state of friendship.
This is quite similar to find a lover, however much different in process and realization.
You see a person you find an interest, then you get close and talk. If she/he provides you with state of pleasure, then you may start building up your so called friendship. On the same token, you start to receive and give support. A trust becomes an accepted treaty between you and your new acquaintance. And of course, sharing your views is another point of friendship when is combined with the laughter that fills the air. These qualities provide you with an unprecedented pleasure to your brain and body, which technically creates the essence of friendship and state of being friend!
Moreover, there is this sense of comfort that you develop with your friend, a state that you easily can learn from her/him and vice versa. A mutual respect is another fruit of friendship. When a friend is gone (i.e. dieing or leaving you for a distance) it is difficult to escape from the anguish that you receive during this time.
All and all this is what slowly makes a friendship.
Of course, I can go on and on. However, it is important to understand that these qualities are quite different for any individuals. This is quite similar to the fact that our bodies and minds are different.
I say this one from my own experiences, I am working biomechanical area, it is almost impossible to find two individuals who have identical bone and musculoskeletal structure!
So, you are more than welcome to add more to these qualities and wrote your comments or even write essay and use trackback it to this link.

I end up my writing with this famous song: That's what friends of for
-----------------------------
That's What Friends Are For
Written by Carol Bayer Sager (lyrics) and Burt Bacharach (music)
Made famous when recorded by ensemble known as Dionne & Friends, consisting of Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, and Gladys Knight
The Dionne and Friends version was #1 on the Top 40 charts for four weeks in 1985

And I, never thought I'd feel this way
And as far as I'm concerned
I'm glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe I love you

And if, I should ever go away
Well then close your eyes and try
To feel the way we do today
And then if you can remember

Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For/In good times and/in bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Well you came and opened me
And now there's so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you

And then, for the times when we're apart
Well then close your eyes and know
These words are coming from my hearts
And then if you can remember

Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For/In good times and/in bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Friendship in Childhood vs Friendship in adulthood; who is the best friend!

Have you ever wondered how easy it was to find a friend when we were young? Some may say, yes, some may say no! but the truth is that it was hell easier to find friends when we were in an early age (I mean from 2 to 14 years old)! Have we ever wondered why?

I think the reason comes from the fact that we get complicated! In early age we are simple, down to earth, enjoy simple things, just get fascinated by hid and go seek game or by the world around us!!
However, later in life as we put it when we become adult, we get involved with ourselves and world around ourselces! No more simplicity, now things are not as straight as it they look.
Mr. Sepehr Haddad is a US based Musician from the groupShahin & Sepehr (couldn't find their website). They were playing new age music.
Mr. Haddad nicely explains the above claim and differences between the best friend, friend and acquaintances as we grow up to the higher dimension as I put it!
...
It seems there is an inverse relationship between aging and the number of best friends one has. As a child, every kid that plays with you and doesn't make you cry or get you in trouble is considered a "best friend"; however, as you get older with every year that passes, it seems that instead of gaining more friends, one tends to perhaps gain more acquaintances and less true or "best friends". ...

To reveal your partner psychodaynamic state, why not take her/him to a court of law!!!

I feel like to analyse the court and psychological state of plaintiff and judges which can be extended to any general human being!!

Trial provides various opportunities for all participants to express unconscious
parent-oriented emotions that have been repressed since childhood. These emotions are
repressed in childhood primarily due to the fact that they are extremely ambivalent,
eliciting punishment from the Super-Ego. From a psychoanalytic view, the trial judge
can be viewed as a symbolic father figure, who may arouse in the litigants parentoriented feelings. If the judge is perceived as an unconscious symbolic father-substitute, the litigants may unconsciously displace their parent-oriented feelings onto him.
This may take the form of an unconscious wish to physically harm the judge, manifesting itself in conscious hostility toward the judge, particularly if he is ruling against one’s case. A trial judge who uses his discretion to limit a litigant’s chances of winning the case may be perceived as a father who sought to limit the child’s desire for having intimate relations with the mother, thereby evoking the child’s Oedipal feelings of hatred.
As Shoenfeld asserts:
Persons who may serve as unconscious parent symbols (kings, judges,
employers and so on) often have displaced onto them repressed parentoriented
feelings that have remained in the unconscious since early childhood; and because . . .
a child’s early feelings towards his parents usually range from primitive love to savage hatred, the repressed emotions of early childhood displaced onto parent substitutes are frequently not only affectionate and loving but also angry and hostile . . . . It is conceivable that judges and the courts on which they sit may well constitute the law’s most important unconscious parent symbols.

In a sense, a child’s parents are his first judges, constructing the family “tribunal” wherein the father’s “law” adjudicates whether the child’s actions are right or wrong, and mandates appropriate rewards and punishments. If someone had experienced frequent “injustice” in the parental tribunal, then it is not inconceivable that he or she would later view all courts and laws as instruments of oppression designed to perpetuate injustice. Such a litigant would tend to displace feelings of hostility—originating from childhood— onto the judge and the court.
Likewise, someone who has experienced violent abuse during childhood may
later perceive all instruments of the law—the police, the judge, and the criminal law—as extensions of the unjust father figure who will forever pursue him to inflict further harm.
From this point of view, it is not surprising to observe an uncooperative attitude in
criminal defendants toward the criminal justice system. These ideas may shed light on
the proposition that an abusive family environment in childhood may be a significant
cause of adult criminality.
Furthermore, trial provides an atmosphere where not only litigants but also their
lawyers can displace family-oriented feelings onto the judge and opposing counsel. A
lawyer who identifies with his client, or at least empathizes with his client’s cause, will often perceive the other side’s counsel as a threat. This rivalry is not simply limited to the purpose of winning the case, for it may have its origins beyond the immediate court action.
The lawyer’s rivalry may be motivated by subconscious tendencies that have
been repressed in childhood, turning his case into a personal matter. Specifically, the opposition between each side’s counsel may have its underlying origin in a childhood experience of sibling rivalry that significantly influenced the development of the lawyer’s personality. In such a situation, the trial judge may be a symbolic parental figure for lawyers who subconsciously perceive each other as rival siblings reliving a childhood experience. The lawyers could project parental feelings onto the judge, and depending on which side he favored in the litigation, the projections could range from severe hostility to intense liking. Accordingly, sibling rivalry may be a valid explanation for why opposing counsel at times scream at each other and express hostility toward one another
in the courtroom:
A lawyer . . . may on an unconscious level equate the counsel who
opposes him with the brother or sister who once competed with him for
parental love during childhood. If so, then the likelihood is that angry and
hostile feelings of sibling rivalry concerning this brother or sister that he
may have repressed during childhood will be displaced onto the opposing
counsel; and as a result, he may provoke and actively engage in
undignified and unnecessary squabbles with this counsel.

In addition to litigants and their lawyers, the judge may also subconsciously
displace family-oriented emotions onto the trial participants. A trial judge who
subconsciously perceives a litigant or lawyer as a symbolic daughter or son would likely displace parental emotions onto the symbolic child-figure. Depending on how the judge views his or her own child and what sort of emotions he or she feels toward the child, the litigant or lawyer who symbolically represents the judge’s child would be subject to familial emotional reactions—ranging from intense like to dislike—from the judge.

These ideas could explain a situation where a judge seems to favor one of the litigants over the other, even though the disfavored party has a better argument. Thus, none of the trial participants is immune to the everlasting recreation of the Oedipal triangle, and the resulting emotional reactions generated therefrom.

Are you bored?!! So, I am guessing no one really reads this, except myself, SO, I enjoyed it:-)))

Good bye Iran's President!

1. President Khatami final interview with press is done. It worth reading (It is in Persian, I try to find the English one as well).
However, this report can be read in English!
I think this song of Elton John is handy for him with little altering(just for fun):

Goodbye IRAN's President,
may you ever grow in our hearts, WHO KNOWS!
You were the grace that placed itself
where lives were torn apart.
You called out to our country,
and you whispered to those in pain.
Now you belong to HISTORY,
and the stars spell out your name WITHOUT GRACE.
And it seems to me you lived your life
in WEEP and CONCESSION
Always fading with the SHOUT of FUHRER!
when the rain set in.
And your footsteps will always fall here,
along IRAN's DESERT hills;
your candle's burned out long before
your EVER STARTED!

Loveliness we've lost;
these empty days without your smile.
This torch we'll always carry
for our nation's golden child.
And even though we try WITH 80 PER CET VOTES,
the truth brings us to tears;

all our words cannot express
the joy you brought us through the years of TINY FREEDOM!
Goodbye IRAN's rose,
from a country NOT KNOWING WHAT IS COMING NEXT,
who'll miss the wings of your compassion
more than you'll ever know
PERHAPS IN CORNOR OF NATIONAL LIBRARY!
WHO WILL KNOW!!!:-))

*changes are in Capital letters!

2. I want to introduce Mr. James Blun who is now on top on the England's music chart.
Download His song: Out of Mind.

A fickle weather!

I have never seen such a fickle weather in my life. It gets hot and humid about couple of hours then gets cold and rainy like it is beginning of the fall or winter!
Right now, it is raining cats and dogs!
...
Sitting at home, having nothing to do, not much on TV to watch or someone to call or to be called! That is something I guess you can only experience in abroad! I am guessing this makes your character, though.
I have to admit there are things I can do but I am not in mood to do anything!!

Iranian President, Khatami, in final days of his Presidency term. A Genral evaluation!

Khatami’s term is coming to an end. Many are complaining that he did nothing and he was not up to the task. Or He was part of regime just to stretch regime’s life span and so on.
On the other hand, there are people who praise him for the jobs he did and think he was a hero for Iranians.
I, on the other hand, think that he was not a hero at all. Khatami’s, though, introduced couple of words into Iranian political lexicon.

1. Accountability and transparency of government hierarchy.
2. The small but decisive reform in ministry of intelligence.
3. Dialogue between different parts of society.
4. The word reform.
5. Tolerance towards each other.
6. Friendly representation of Iranians in world community. Raising hands towards world community.
and
7. The art of criticizing and not getting labeled for it.

The other part of Khatami was compromise and concession to radical and conservative part of the regime. He lost many friends under way and did not tried to rescue them appropriately.
I am sure he was aware of enormity of the other side of spectrum where they do not have anything to lose. Therefore, they will do the act of atrocity with no mercy towards people. I think he was avoiding two things. The civil war and trying to pay the least amount of cost for his reforms.
I think to summarize his term we can say that Khatami’s term was a valuable term in Iran’s history where many democratic and ethical words entered to Iranians lexicon. And since he has been president such Reports are being released!

The food quality in Switzerland!

For the past month being here and having consumed the local food (cheap ones from local chain supermarkets and at work), I have realized that the quality of food here is quite superior compare to North America.
At work I eat any kind of meat and none of them have been greasy, not to mention, contaminated with growth hormones, as a result I havenot put on any weight.
However, in North America after almost two weeks of eating chicken kababs I would gain about 4kg to 6kg. Usually, the lunch at work is served with a main course includes a small juice and some kinds of vegtables or salad which makes it quite healthy.
In North America the quality of food is quite low compare to the ordinary food we purchase from cheapest supermarkets. Although the food in general, in particular meat, is more expensive in Switzerland than in North America, I think it worth it.
