couple of stories worth to read

1. Nice that almost no one, wrote anything about Earth day in their weblog! (Not Even
Z8un I am quite impressed with this generation becasue WE LOVE OUR environment!!;-)

2. Interesting commentary on new Iranian music and those as we know 6/8 weight tone!
...Ready? Dare I say it? Ah, fuck it, I am sick of 6/8. What was a hot bouncy beat in '78 has steadily become a drill straight into my brain, and I'm sorry but I just can't take it anymore! When are we going to be honest with the outmoded LA machine, the un-namables regurgitating the crap musical diarrhea they force us to buy?
read the
rest here.

3. Persian Romance is a funny story about what else Persian Romance!!
Asgar nodded conspiratorially and made his way to the back of the restaurant. Ali watched Asgar walk towards the back of the restaurant and was filled with loathing and contempt. Olga should be his, he was the one who paid her and helped her with her English. Asgar wouldn't have even have met Olga if he hadn't taken him along to the Polish community centre to recruit staff. He would find a way to make Olga his no matter what the cost. He would prove to her that he was more of a man then Asgar. Just as his blood was near boiling point, Najeeb, the Afghani waiter, approached him.

Earth Day

ok, although I am not having time to write these days and not much of access, I have to say something when it is Earth day.
I think it is blasphemy for me whose passinate is environment not writing about this importatn occasion.
Here in Canada they are promoting changing the way that people are living. The way that people are reating environment. As you may know in North America lots of people waste energy. It is a trend to waste energ here. I think same as Iran:). Today, there were many workshops around the Toronto to teach how people can help with reducing emssion and improving energy consumption.
here is the Link from Yahoo.

Hopfully I buy my Hybrid car, soon!;-)

Toronto: a Metropolitan with all its characters

You know the interesting aspect of life in downtown of Toronto is the fact you never know who you would meet.
Yesterday, I was in Sam the record man, CD store and saw Billy Idol was doing autograph in there and it was a huge line up. For those who don't know Billy, he used to be a great idol for 80's and his famous song was "white wedding". Correct me if I am wrong.
and today, it was Ms. Lisa Marie Presley, doughter of Elvis who was in Eaton's Centre and signing autograph for her new CD. apparently, it is country.
and more of today, before I get into Eaton's centre I was given 3 pack of fruit Yogurt!!
isn't it amazing:), just kidding, I mean at least for the last one:)

by the way, Billy Idol doesn't look good and he is old!

Hectic life

Amazing how hectic someone's life becomes! I am running around here in Canada to do things I am supposed to do. and I hear then in Switzerland as soon as I arrive I have to go to either France or UK.
I have this feeling that for next 3.5 years ai am going to have quite hectic life!
good bless Alireza:-)
talking about hectic life, and perhaps hurricane. This Canadian group is called Blue Rodeo, (Rodeo means khar or something!, correct me if I am wrong) they have this new CD out is best of their past songs. I like some of their songs and one of them is this one called 5 Days in May:(nice tone, though).

They met in a hurricane
Standing in the shelter out of the rain
She tucked a note into his hand
Later on they took his car
Drove on down where the beaches are
He wrote her name in the sand
Never even let go of her hand

Somehow they stayed that way
For those 5 days in May
Made all the stars around them shine
Funny how you can look in vain
Living on nerves and such sweet pain
The loneliness that cuts so fine
To find the face you've seen a thousand times

Sometimes the world begins
To set you up on your feet again
It wipes the tears from your eyes
How will you ever know
The way that circumstances go
Always going to hit you by surprise
I know my past
You were there
In everything I've done
You are the one

Looking back it's hard to tell
Why they stood while others fell
Spend your life working it out
All I know is one cloudy day
They both just ran away
Rain on the windshield heading South
She loved the lines around his mouth

Sometimes the world begins
To set you up on your feet again
It wipes the tears from your eyes
How will you ever know
The way that circumstances go
Always going to hit you by surprise
I know my past
You were there
In everything I've done
You are the one

I am celebrity,...ok in some extend:-)... anyone would like to have my autograph!!!

Yesterday, I was coming out of Eaton’s centre mall in downtown of Toronto. While getting out of the main door on Younge and Dundas streets a reporter from local radio station known as 640 AM approached me and told me that she wishes to ask me couple of questions! I told her, I do not think that I am not the right candidate to ask any questions. But she insisted that no I am!

Anyhow, she asked me what is my view on next Pope and what do I think should the next successor consider? I start by this sentence that I think the next Pope must be a woman! I believe contrary to Pope John Paul II who was against contraception, abortion, gay and lesbians, the new one should tolerate all those. We are living in a society contains people with miscellaneous cultures, characteristic and point of views. So, the next Pope must be more liberal than John Paul II and tolerate all stated groups! She goes: wow, ok, that is good. I have second question, though. I am not sure if you have any kids but Toronto public schools are in terrible disrepair condition plus they are full of insects, pests, and mice. Some schools have to shut down to school to get things in proper condition? City claims there is no money and so what do you think?
I exclaimed my face told her, you know there is always money available but that is what makes things not going is the fact that there is mismanagement. I am sure if they delve enough they find some. Money can always be allocated.
She said all right what is you name. I said Alireza. She said thank you told me that my voice would be on the air by that afternoon!!
So, signature anyone:-)))

Joni Mitchell and my perceptions...

Finally, I have got a chance to write again. This is due to the fact that my friend has left me his laptop so I can do some work:) and I am doing work!
...
Being here in Canada and eastern part of it after 2.5 years made me couple of interesting observations.
First of all the number of Iranians who live in Toronto are very quickly multiplied. And perhaps 75% of these fellows are in real estate! There are tons of men and women pictures all around Iranian ad-based news papers smiling and encouraging you to buy a apartment or house.
...
1. Students life has had sharp turn here in Toronto, Canada. Now many students are rich, becasue I heard that out of every 10 students in Ryerson or University of Toronto 8 have cars.
At my time they were trowing parties and gathering in downtown, so everyone could participate. but now they throw parties which belog to university in up-up town where if you have no car, can't go! I heard, becasue I did not go, that 1500 persons were for Iranian New year party of universities across Ontario! and there where perhaps 1000 people behind the door and the tickets were sold out!!!
In my time, if we could get 300 people into the party we were doing something amazing! how things changes.
Iranians have moved to North and even much Northern part of Toronto area! So, I think this comes from the mentality of the Iranians who think North is classy place to live!
2. I think we as a person should make any changes. We should not wait to changes to take place for us. :-)
3. joni Michell is a great singer and song writer of Canadian national. She has apparently released more than 30 albums and one of my favorite work od hers is this following song:
Both sides of story

Bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air
and feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done but clouds got in my way.

I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
from up and down, and still somehow
it's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

Moons and Junes and ferris wheels, the dizzy dancing way you feel
When every fairy tale comes real; I've looked at love that way.
But now it's just another show. You leave 'em laughing when you go
and if you care, don't let them know, don't give yourself away.

I've looked at love from both sides now,
from give and take, and still somehow
it's love's illusions I recall.
I really don't know love at all.

Tears and fears and feeling proud to say I love you right out loud,
dreams and schemes and circus crowds, I've looked at life that way.
But now old friends are acting strange, they shake their heads, they say
I've changed.
But Something's lost but something's gained in living every day.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
from win and lose, and still somehow
it's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.

I've looked at life from both sides now,
from up and down, and still somehow
it's life's illusions I recall.
I really don't know life at all.
