wisdom before new year!

1. Behnaz sarafpour former Isaac Mizrahi assistant also worked at Anne Klein and designed Barney's private label is an emerging face in fashion industry. Now he has her own lable and designs top celebreties fashion. Sarafpour's collections are polished, chic, and sophisticated. She does suiting well but is best-known for her soft-edged, romantic dresses and ankle-skimming skirts.
Ok, this is for fashion luvers in 1384:)

2. No success can compensate for failure in the home! "for those people with family!"

3. This song by Charles Chaplin, John Turner &, Geoffrey Parsons & is a great song to start this Iranian new year.

Smile
Though your heart is aching
Smile
Even though it’s breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You’ll get by

If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That’s the time you must keep on trying
Smile
What’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worth while
If you just

Smile
Though your heart is aching
Smile
Even though it’s breakin’
When there are clouds in the sky
You’ll get by

If you smile
Through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You’ll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

That’s the time
You must keep on trying
Smile
What’s the use of crying
You’ll find that life is still worth while
If you just smile

Mr. Jackson had a trial right now. but we can not ignore his contribution to music. This is one of those songs I felt it is appropriate for the moment.

Heal the world
There's a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be much
Brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You'll find there's no need to cry
In this place you'll feel
There's no hurt or sorrow

There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place ...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me

If you want to know why
There's love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares of joyful giving
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear od dread
We stop existing and start living

The it feels that always
Love's enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better place ...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this earth, crucify its soul
Though it's plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be god's glow

We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into plowshares

We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place ...

Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care neough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me
...

There are pepole dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me

first post from Markham, GTA

wowo, I fianlly walked on Canada's soil! weather is cold here. It was supposed to snow last night. I can't sleep it is around 5:30am and I am up since 3:30 am!
After 4 days being in Switzerland now I am in Canada. Switzerland and Zurich in particular, is perhaps the example of a place called everything are in order! or "Madineh fazeleh"! not perfect but a lot better than were I have seen! everything is so nice and well situated. They take the best out of the smallest things they have. Compare to Canada technologically pe say I think on streets they are 10 years ahead of Toronto as far as I can see!
oh, have I mentioned that I had Sushi last night. good quality one!

I see lots of new homes and condos in Toronto are constructed but the street conditions are quite similar to our own Tehran! on the other hand, Zurich did not have any bump or "chaleh"!! here there are tons!
I think is is good for now. I don't have much of access to computer or phone. hopfully soon I get some!

Final thought; A farewell

The time has come and I am going out of this country for little while. Things so quickly changes in our life that we hardly get any grasp of them!
Tonight I am going away for a while. A journey that may change my entire life forever. A trip that is different from many trips I have gone through. I feel anxiety and nervousness. For the past 2.5 years in Tehran I established a comfort zone which I am soon passing from it and going to a hectic life of Phd and work, simultaneously.
Moving on, life passes by whether we want or not. So, enjoy every moment so that you do not regret it, later.
I wish everyone a passionate, healthy and successful life. I am not sure if I get a chance to write again in next little while.
This is my farewell for time being. Those who read this left me a comment, I thank you all. They all know who they are…
Take care… John bon jovi say it well: Never say Die, now I say never say Goodbye!
Lyrics:
As we stood there older than men
And younger than the boys (that's right)
We were as still as the wind
That blows on a hot August night
And you were lonesome
As a jukebox
But deadly just the same
I could be as gentle as a newborn
Then spit into the eye of a hurricane
And we knew how to laugh
And we knew how to cry
Yeah, we sure knew how to live
But we don't ever
Never say die
Never say die
I guess you'd say we had a pact
These words we knew so well (that's right)
Still they remained unspoken
And we'd take them to the fiery
Gates of hell
Once I was afraid of love
But when it's your brother
Those things change
'Cause love is just another word
For trust
So hear me when I say
Never say die
Never say no
You got to look them in the eye
And don't let go
When it's your own blood you'll bleed
And your own tears you'll cry
When you're brought up to believe
That it's the strong who survive
Never say die

Yeah, and we could run like lightning
Through the pouring rain
And we'll be standing like a soldier
Who comes marching home again
They ask what it is that I want written
On the gravestone where I'll lie
Tell them it's just my bones
That died there
So save the tears they'll cry
My spirit is still riding somewhere
Somewhere in this night
When it's these three words that come to me
As I kiss this world goodbye
Never say die
Never say no
You got to look them in the eye
And don't let go
When it's your own blood you'll bleed
And your own tears you'll cry
When you're brought up to believe
That it's the strong who survive
Never say die

Is not that better if we do our own job properly? Criticizing Iranian work habit and more

1. Before anything I have to take this opportunity and wish everyone a healthy and happy Iranian new year. I won't be around to do this properly. So, this is it!:)
Thanks to Narges for sending me this flash for the Iranian new year.

2. Again this is another Link from Narges. It is quite funny.

3. One of the most entertaining and at the same time sad moments in my past two years residency in Iran has been the fact that so many or perhaps almost everybody do not perform their given jobs properly and completely as they are instructed!! There are not many employees who have initiation or motivation in doing their jobs I perhaps can claim that!

We usually interfere with one another job or instruct another but when it comes to our own job, we do not perform it to its full!

I suppose you have been in a simple family gathering in Iran where you will observe that everyone has her/his expert opinion on all discussed issues. As I put it they usually solve social, economical and urban problems of entire world and mostly Iran just in a few hours! This is being done by providing certain and expert decree and resolutions. And of course, if they are obeyed, life would have been different according to those expert consultants!! Perhaps it is even more dramatic to mention that none of these fellows have any background in sociology or economy or urban planning or architecture at all!

This has been the story I have been exposed to for past 2.5 years of me being in Tehran. We are a nation who considers themselves the smartest and the most elegant nations of all whom are aware of any right and wrong for everyone in the world. We know in and out of any event that is taking place around us. We are definitely opinioned but these opinions are enunciated and shouted before even someone wishes to hear!

I am sure you have been walking or driving on the street in Iran where there have been persons who interfere with your work. Suppose you are asking a person about an address. You will see everyone is trying to listen and help you out but not knowing what really the question is! Or even take the driving, for instance, someone scream at you and telling you why you are driving like this.
I think we suffer from a syndrome I call it “curiositinisim”!! This in turn makes people to divert from their real work and profession and have them to think and concentric on things out side their work! On the other hand, they mind
My father for instance has economy background but god forbids, he knows about civil engineering, world economy and laws and constitution as much as a professional in all those fields!

My mom, on the other hand, knows more about living abroad in any country than people who have spend more time in abroad than her!

Another interesting habit of Iranians in general is the way they get so close to each other or as I put it nose to nose. What do I mean? Let me provide an example:

I had traveled to Ahvaz about two weeks ago and we were in the airport waiting to pass the cavity search area to the transit section. All the passengers in the line were so close that you could kiss them on the chick or smell people breathe so vividly! We have not learned to provide an appropriate distance where people feel relieved and comfortable.
Oh, I just recalled this occasion when I had gone skiing after many years. It gets worse when it comes to those high class dudes and dudettes who run on your skis and boats when trying to get on the ski lifts. Or when driving; drivers get too close that you feel you can spit on their head if they let you!!

This way we usually spend so much energy to do things that has nothing to do with us. However, if we concentrate on the issues that our knowledge allows us, we may obtain decisive result. We may be even creating a promise land.

Dance with me

1. I watched the movie called dance with me. A romantic movie that has lots of dancing in it. I do not think the movie itself was such a amazing picture, however the dancing was. After many years not watching Salsa, rumba, tango and other ballroom dancing, I got a chance to watch some. Man; I do not even think that I can recall my own simple salsa moves! Good old days! Time flies!

2. Listen to Pyrouz and Shahrzad Sepanlou songs. Thanks to Solmaz for providing this link .

3. Thanks to Nedawho provided me with this link. These are event of Nourooz in your area around the world.
